MCM Webmaster's Note
This online edition of War on the Saints, including formatting and commentary, was created and made available by the generous efforts of the owner of apostasynow.com. There are many things on their site that we do not agree with. However, we are grateful for the work that they have done to make this book available to the public.
War on the Saints is a very in depth analysis of the deception and schemes satan uses to lead the elect astray and into bondage, and the means through which the bound one can be set free in Christ. Mrs. Penn-Lewis and Evan Roberts frequently use the term "possession" in regards to the believer. That was the term used in the early 1900s, when the Welsh revival broke out (1904), to refer to any affliction attributable to the demonic. We do not use the term "possession" when referring to a truly regenerated Christian, but rather "oppression". (The word used in the Bible is properly translated "demonized.") Because of your complete redemption through the blood of Jesus Christ, you, the elect, are God's possession, even though satan, through his schemes, can inflict great spiritual and physical oppression and deception on you if you are not walking in truth as the Holy Spirit reveals it to you, and/or you are not "on the alert" to satan's schemes.
We issue one caveat to the reader of this work. Read the scriptures frequently and ask God for His perspective in your life while going through this book. The Bible is the only true guide for your life. Books like these are only a window into areas God has given the authors special insight to. Like Paul, they only see "dimly, as through a dark glass". A proper understanding of the truths in this book can be very liberating. It can also lead to great condemnation, self doubt, even a sense of hopelessness and further bondage if you are not rightly dividing the Word of God in your own life, through your own bible study and walk with God. A good passage to keep before you is Ephesians 1 & 2.
May God bless you and bring you further into the freedom that is in Christ as as you seek Him and grow in your knowledge of Him in the truth as it is in Jesus! John 8:31,32; Eph 4:20-27ff; 3 Jn 1:2-4
